Day 1: PMO or TPA Airport / Macari - San Vito lo Capo
Arrival at Palermo airport, welcome by the guide and transfer to the hotel. Depending on the arrival time, a direct visit to the Gulf of Macari, with its wild landscape and few built houses, which caught the attention of the TV crew and the public's interest. It is in this small village in western Sicily that the holiday home of the protagonist Saverio Lamanna is located. The village, with its crystal-clear sea and pristine nature, has enchanted viewers. Welcome cocktail with Sicilian mixed fried snacks (arancinette, panelle, toasted almonds, etc.), and prosecco or non-alcoholic drink, followed by a tour presentation. Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 2: Salt Museum \ Trapani city \ Erice
After breakfast, departure for the salt pans of Trapani, first stop, the Salt Museum of Nubia. You will retrace the stages and events of a history that has spanned centuries, walking among the canals that separate the various salt pans, immersed in a suggestive atmosphere full of colors. Later, visit the historic center of Trapani. Continue to Erice and visit the medieval citadel at 750 meters with its breathtaking views, lunch in a typical Sicilian trattoria (3 courses, ¼ wine, and ½ water included). In the afternoon, on the way back, you will pass through the white marble quarries of Custonaci - featured in some scenes - and continue towards the "Tonnara di Scopello" where most of the scenes of the Marilù restaurant in the beloved fiction were shot. Possibility to swim and free time. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Mini-cruise Favignana \ Levanzo (Optional)
Today, free time in beautiful San Vito Lo Capo, renowned not only for its Caribbean beaches but also for its famous couscous, which we highly recommend trying. You can spend the day relaxing or take the opportunity to participate in our excursion proposal (optional), which promises to be full of emotions. After breakfast, transfer to the port of Trapani and departure for Favignana, heading northeast, you will coast the eastern part of the Island, reaching the famous Cala Rossa, Bue Marino, and Cala Azzurra. Possibility to swim. Arrival at the port, visit the Florio Establishment - the old tuna fishery of Favignana - owned by the famous family, it's one of the "must-see" on the island. The two-hour stop allows for a splendid guided tour inside the museum (not included). Lunch directly on the motorboat with typical products from the Trapani area (water and wine included). Continue to Levanzo. A bar service is also available. In 20 minutes you will dock at the port of Levanzo, and there you can enjoy the enchanting view that this Mediterranean village offers you, it is the only inhabited part of the island. The peculiarity of Levanzo lies in the sober terraced houses in white and turquoise, visible while walking along the few and quiet streets that lead to the town center. Return passing by the enchanting stacks, an ideal destination for photography enthusiasts. More intimate, but no less remarkable is Favignana, the planned stop is about 1 hour. Return to Trapani expected around 6:00 PM, transfer to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 4: Alternative Excursion (Optional)
After breakfast, departure for Mozia, boat transfer, and visit to the extraordinarily beautiful islet-museum, which was probably an ancient Phoenician city, located on the island of San Pantaleo, in the Stagnone of Marsala. Free lunch. Later, continue to Marsala, where Garibaldi landed in 1860. Visit one of the city's large wineries, then head to the regional archaeological museum Lilibeo which preserves and displays: the wreck of a Punic ship and numerous archaeological finds dated from the 2nd and 1st century BC to the 1st AD, and an extraordinary collection of amphorae indicating the flourishing commercial activity in this sea. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Segesta \ Selinunte \ Agrigento
After breakfast, transfer to the archaeological area of Selinunte, glimpsed in some aerial shots of the fiction based on the novels by Gaetano Savatteri. Here, a treasure trove of millennia-old treasures is preserved, yet the fervent activity that has continued there over the centuries is tangible. 270 hectares that tell of one of the most flourishing classical civilizations in the Mediterranean. Continue to Marinella di Selinunte with its small harbor and free lunch. Later, visit Segesta and the renowned archaeological site for its two well-preserved monuments: the Doric Temple and the Ancient Theater, both of immense artistic charm. In the late afternoon, arrival in Agrigento and check-in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Valley of the Temples \ Garden of Kolymbethra \ Farm Cultural Park
Today is entirely dedicated to the scenes from the first episode of the second season of Màkari. After breakfast, start with a visit to the world's largest archaeological area, the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento. Scattered throughout the valley, you will admire the Temple of Hercules, Concordia, Juno, and the Temple of Zeus, testimonies of the Greek domination and today a UNESCO World Heritage site. Lunch in a typical local trattoria. In the afternoon, continue to the Farm Cultural Park, a place that has amazed visitors. Located in the heart of Favara, it represents its independent cultural center. A complex of seven small courtyards in the historic center of the city that has enchanted viewers with its evocative colors, a real open-air art gallery. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 7: Monreale \ Palermo City Walk
After breakfast, transfer to Monreale, where the imposing Cathedral stands, built in 1174 by the will of William II of Altavilla. It's renowned for its rich golden mosaics in Byzantine style that adorn its interior. A visit to the grand cloister adjacent to the Cathedral is a must. The journey continues to Palermo, the city which is not only the capital of Sicily but perhaps the most chaotic, vibrant, and energetic place in all of Europe. Founded by the Phoenicians in the 8th century BC, Palermo has been the most important city in Sicily since the Arab domination in the 9th century. Arabs, Normans, French, and Spaniards - all these different dominations have left their mark on the city's progress over the centuries. Today, Palermo represents a unique mix of styles, architecture, and art. It's this blend of diverse cultures that has contributed to making the city a UNESCO World Heritage site. Your taste buds will be grateful as there will be many tastings (arancine, sfincioni, panelle, and much more) among the colorful and lively market stalls in the heart of Palermo. Its street food has been ranked among the most famous in the world. A must-visit for anyone coming to this city. Afterward, some free time and return to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel or a typical nearby restaurant. Overnight stay.
Day 8: Goodbye Sicily
After breakfast, transfer to the airport and end of services.
