Day 1: Welcome in Sicily
Arrival at Catania Airport. After collecting the rental car, head towards Syracuse and check-in at a predetermined agritourism. Depending on the arrival time, a brief visit to the historic center of Catania is possible. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Discovering Ancient Syracuse: From Neapolis to Ortigia
After breakfast, head to Syracuse and explore this beautiful ancient Greek city. Start with the archaeological area of Neapolis, an important site that houses the Greek Theatre, the Roman Amphitheatre, and the Ear of Dionysius. Later, drive to the historic center, the Island of Ortigia, which is connected to the city of Syracuse and is famous for its historical monuments. Here, visiting the Temple of Apollo, the Fountain of Arethusa, and the Cathedral is a must. Afterward, enjoy some free time for a seafood lunch or to savor an ice cream. Return to Agriturismo, dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: The Baroque Beauty: Noto, Modica, and Ragusa Ibla
After breakfast, depart for Noto, a city renowned for its Sicilian Baroque architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Continue to Modica, the city of chocolate. Here, you can visit the chocolate museum or step into one of the many chocolate shops for a tasting. Later, explore Ragusa Ibla, a beautiful and ancient historic center with churches and palaces in Baroque style. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Mount Etna Adventure & Relaxing in Giardini Naxos
After breakfast, set out for Mount Etna. Drive up to 2000 meters. From there, the atmosphere is unique with breathtaking views. You can continue the adventure by taking the Etna cable car (costing around € 78.00 per person, payable on-site) that goes up to 2600 meters, and then special jeeps up to 2800 meters. Here, a mountain guide will explain the volcanic features, usually in English. A brief stop for a good honey tasting is a must. Later, visit Giardini Naxos, located at the foot of the stunning Taormina, which is less frequented by tourists at this time. Check-in at the hotel and explore Taormina, with its ancient theater, English garden, and panoramic views. In the afternoon, enjoy some free time. Dinner is on your own, followed by an overnight stay.
Day 5: Sailing to Lipari: The Gem of the Aeolian Islands
Depart for Milazzo, the major port from where ferries to Lipari depart. You will leave the car at the port. From now on you no longer need it. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. From here, guests can move around freely, keeping in mind that connections between the islands might be limited during this period. Information is available at the small port, where assistance is also provided in English. Half Board (dinner) in the hotel INCLUDED.
Day 8: Farewell to Sicily: Departure from Milazzo to Catania
Return to Milazzo and transfer to Catania Airport. End of services.
