  • Etna (3,329 meters): Not only is Etna the highest active volcano in Europe, but it's also one of Sicily's most renowned mountains. Located on the island's eastern coast near Catania, it's a hub for various tourist activities ranging from hiking and skiing to eruption observation. The park surrounding Etna is a protected area, boasting breathtaking landscapes and a diverse range of wildlife.

  • Pizzo Carbonara (1,979 meters): As Sicily's second-highest peak, Pizzo Carbonara is nestled within the Madonie Park to the north. This park is a haven for hikers, offering a myriad of trails, spectacular vistas, and a rich array of flora and fauna.

  • Monte San Salvatore (1,912 meters): Located in the Nebrodi Mountains, northeast of Sicily, Monte San Salvatore offers enchanting landscapes and rich biodiversity. The surrounding area is ideal for trekking and wildlife observation, including deer, eagles, and birds of prey.

  • Monte Lauro (1,878 meters): Monte Lauro is located in the hinterland of eastern Sicily, northwest of Catania.   • Monte Cammarata (1,578 meters): This mountain is located in the central part of Sicily, near the city of Agrigento.   • Monte Finestrelle (1,477 meters): Located in the Madonie Park, Monte Finestrelle is known for its breathtaking views and unique rock formations.   • Monte Cofano (659 meters): Located on the northwestern coast of Sicily, near San Vito Lo Capo, Monte Cofano is part of the Monte Cofano Oriented Nature Reserve. The reserve offers numerous trails leading to panoramic views of the coast and the surrounding hills. The area is also famous for its coves and pebble beaches, ideal for swimming and snorkeling.

  • Monte Monaco (532 meters): Located on Sicily's northwestern coast near San Vito Lo Capo, Monte Monaco provides panoramic views of the town and its surrounding beaches. The nearby area is renowned for the San Vito Lo Capo beach and the adjacent Zingaro Reserve, featuring trekking trails that meander along the coast, through rolling landscapes and secluded coves.
