From Cefalù: Gangi Music & Artisan Traditions

Travel from Cefalù to hilltop Gangi for a guided village visit and an encounter with handmade Sicilian drums, live traditional rhythms and local sweet specialities.

Highlights

  • A Guided Discovery of Gangi
  • Meet a Traditional Drum Maker
  • Music and Local Flavours

Overview

Leave the coast at Cefalù and head into the Madonie hills to discover Gangi, a stone-built village known for its narrow lanes, layered history and views across inland Sicily. A guided stroll introduces the historic setting before the experience turns to a less familiar aspect of the island’s cultural heritage: traditional percussion craftsmanship.

Visit a local artisan workshop dedicated to handmade Sicilian drums and tambourines. See how instruments are assembled with traditional techniques and materials, and discover the role rhythm plays in popular festivals and local celebrations. The visit includes a short live performance, allowing the sounds of the instruments to bring the workshop story to life.

A tasting of typical local sweets completes this cultural encounter. The combination of village discovery, craftsmanship and music makes this a particularly distinctive group excursion from Cefalù, with the final running order and exact workshop arrangements confirmed before departure.
